Mandalas

Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning “circle” or “center”. Mandalas can have repeating colors and patterns, or they can be free flowing and creatively yours. Traditionally within the Buddhist and Hindu culture, mandalas were used in meditation, prayer, and spiritual journey. Carl Jung, the founder of analytic psychology, created his first mandala in 1916. He worked with his patients to create mandalas intuitively, as a “safe refuge of inner reconciliation and wholeness” and saw them as a tool towards spiritual health.

I use mandalas for creative, spiritual growth and well as a journalling tool for my life in this individual moment.
